Stylish modern hotel, spectacular spot, right on the sea, close to small resort. Paul loves the Gabbiano Azzurro’s great location, ultra-clean bedrooms, fabulous bathrooms and glorious sea-views, as well as the fact that it’s fantastically well run.

In a beautiful setting, literally on the sea, three sides of the lovely Gabbiano Azzurro face the sea. Wonderful terraces overhang the water, with uninterrupted and breathtaking views over the bay and of the small holiday resort of Golfo degli Aranci, which is just south of the Costa Smeralda. A pathway leads from the hotel, onto its private section of white sandy beach and crystal clear water, with sunbeds and umbrellas for guests to use. The beach bar serves not only light snack lunches, but also the main restaurant’s lunch menu – so if you don’t feel like leaving the beach, for a delicious lunch, you don’t have to!! There is a lovely swimming pool on yet another sunny terrace overlooking the sea, and a smaller pool, for children. The hotel is ideal for a relaxing beach holiday in a difficult to beat location.

Just a short stroll from Gabbiano Azzurro will take you into the centre of the small resort of Golfo Aranci, where you will find a few bars, restaurants and shops. Popular with Italians, it can be particularly busy in July and August, buzzing with life and great for people watching. Outside of these periods, it will be quieter. From Golfo Aranci, you can easily reach other glorious beaches, and the chic villages of the Costa Smeralda. Water sports, tennis and horse-riding can also be arranged locally.

Built in the late 60’s, Hotel Gabbiano Azzurro has been brought more up to date with style and flair. Family-run, the owners are rightly proud of their hotel and, involved in the day-to-day running of it, they can often be seen making sure that things are just right for their guests and it is certainly well-run. The public rooms are comfortably and elegantly furnished, with cool splashes of blue and white, which echo the sea. The large dining room is light and airy, with inescapable sea views through what seems like masses of glass. Bedrooms are tasteful and have typically Sardinian pottery and linen. All have a balcony and most are with a sea-view, of course.

Gabbiano Azzurro serves superb local, as well as international cuisine, using ingredients sourced as close to home as possible. The restuarant has gained a reputation for superb food and we can definitelysee why!!. Usually weekly, in high season, they pull out all the stops for their wonderful Sardinian barbecue evenings, when traditional dishes are served, on the terrace, overlooking the sea – a great evening.

The lovely Hotel Gabbiano Azzurro has everything!

“We had a superb room in this excellent hotel, in fact, we were told the room itself was in great demand due to its location and wonderful views. Many thanks for your service. ” David, Hereford
“We had a wonderful time & we loved the hotel. The service was impeccable & our room was very good. I loved the décor, especially the pieces of Sardinian pottery & the beautiful colour schemes, & the staff were very friendly & helpful.” Sue, Brighton

“I had been told when booking this lovely hotel that it was one of the cleanest in the world – it’s true! Our room was cleaned twice a day and I was so impressed! We loved the food, which was even better than we expected & the views are just gorgeous”  Rob & Olivia, Cheltenham
